Went to Pitchstop Cafe in NTU with cousin’s family. It was empty when we reached there. Is it school holiday now? I am too old to know the school calendar now… sigh…
This is the current menu for reference.
We placed our orders and the food was then served to us.
For $2 top-up of the main items, we could get a mini soup and a drink. I like the creamy mushroom.
Having seen so many pictures of the chicken dijonnaise in IG, both cousin and I order it as our mains. Love the thin and crispy batter and the juicy chicken cutlet. Yummy~
Uncle had the Fish and wedges. He said the fish is juicy and well seasoned.
Auntie had the spicy seafood marinara. She added quite a bit of chilli flakes and tabasco sauce so I didn’t get to taste the original flavor.
Overall, the food is not bad and the price is very reasonable. Good for students to hang around and have lunch.
End of last month, Manhattan Fish Market had a few dining promotions which cousins and I felt that it’s too good to miss.
We were very tempted by these 2 promotions and so we met up for dinner at JCube. I guess the promotion brought in some crowd to the mall, because we had to queue to get a table even at 8.30pm. Usually JCube is quite deserted on weekday nights.
Initially we only wanted to order the 1-for-1 small flame to share among the 3 of us, but Stinky Min said she’s very hungry, so we got the spicy baked fish set as well.
Hmmm… think the food looks better in picture. LOL~
Stinky Min is also into IG, so both of us were positioning the food and snapping away, while the I-should-pretend-to eat-only-a-bit-in-front-of bf cousin Elaine, texted away. (hehe… maybe I should hashtag my cousins’ nicknames….)
The small flame was decent. The most loved item was the flamed prawns and the creamy sauce~ Yum~~
Fish is a bit soggy, and fries were cold. I hate cold fries!!
Shan’t complain too much since it’s 1-for-1.
The spicy baked fish was soooooo salty! OMG! I could feel the salt sucking dry all the cells of my tongue. Good for cousin Elaine cause she doesn’t take spicy food and so didn’t have to eat this. She is the only person who can’t take spicy food in the entire cousin clan. Boo~~~
The fried calamari was pretty decent. We were snatching to get an extra piece.
Stinky Min wasn’t full after the meal, so we ordered a brownie ice cream to share. We really enjoyed the dessert because the brownie was so dense and yummy~ The hotplate kept the brownie warm and melts the ice cream on it~
After settling the bill, I told cousin Elaine that she must treat me when she gets her first pay. I am so not going to let her forget that I have been treating her for the past 8 years~ It’s payback time! =P
We were at Suntec for the bridal show a few weeks ago. I happened to see The House of Robert Timms at level 1 and I told Pakcik that we must go there for late lunch later.
So after signing the bridal package, we went straight to Robert Timms.
The first thing I ordered was the Cafe Mocha ($6.50++) and I specifically requested for the lion drawing. =)
It’s Pakcik’s first visit, so he asked me what’s so good about Robert Timms and I replied:”This lion loh~”
That’s me, admiring the lion, and couldn’t bear to stir it.
Pakcik had The Big Bang ($18.80++). It’s a huge plate of Bratwurst sausage, American sausage, smoked turkey breast, beef patty, bacon, toast, grilled tomato and baked beans. No eggs though.
The sausages and beef patty were yummy~ Pakcik love the multi-grain toast a lot. I think the portion size is so generous that even Pakcik almost couldn’t finish everything on the plate.
Then came my beer battered fish and chips ($19.80++). There’s a choice of criss cut fries and french fries. I went for the latter because I love big fat fries!
Anyway, as you can see, the fish is so big that you can hardly locate the pile of fries and coleslaw underneath.
I am already very fat. But look at the size of the fish compared to my face! Lol~
$19.80 is really very worth it.
Plus, the batter is light and crispy, and keeping the fish so juicy and tender. I had to fight the impulse to grab the fish with my hands and just eat it like a barbarian.
But too bad… Pakcik was around, so I have to maintain lady-like and eat it with fork and knife…
By the way, the menu at Robert Timms is very extensive and you will definitely have a tough time deciding what to eat. But one thing for sure, you must ask for the lion or bear coffee art!
